Handmade by local artisan women in the Himalayas of Nepal, this 17.5-inch x 19inch (44cm x 49 cm) carpet is colorful, solidly crafted, and made from highland sheep wool. The wool is spun to create threads and then dyed by hand using natural colors.
To provide longevity and care, RPN recommends washing in cold water. Soak the carpets in cold water for 5 to 10 minutes, apply a detergent solution, and scrub using a soft carpet brush. Using hot water is not recommended as it might cause shrinkage and fading of the natural color.
Because these are handmade carpets the styling and trim colors might be slightly different than what appears in the photo.
Carpets labeled as "Grade B" are some of the first created for RPN. While still functional, stylish, and colorful the weave on these is a little more open so the price is slightly less.
